The 'Gujarat Secondary Education Act 1972' was responsible for the formation of the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSEB). The administrative, cognitive and intellectual direction of the state's secondary and higher secondary education system, relating to the Gujarat Board of Secondary Education or GSEB policy. GSEB (Gujarat Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education) is responsible for the work from class 1 to 12 and is also in charge of prescribing study material for all these classes. Functions of Gujarat State Board
Gujarat Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education is conducting the state level examination in the state of Gujarat since years. The main function of Gujarat Secondary Board is to prepare a well oriented curriculum for secondary level schools and to find the right textbooks covering the complete syllabus with proper explanation for all the state and private schools coming under its administration.
