Anganwadi workers are generally appointed under state health ministry or health department or health related (women & child development) projects or research projects across the nation.The appointment of Anganwadi workers are done on temporary basis at block level in all the states of the nation.

The job responsibilities of an Anganwadi worker includes taking care of public health that mainly involves children and women in respective Anganwadi centres across the nation. The work also involves providing local assistance to the women and children of the area through local assistance in any case of emergency or unusual situation related to health.

Educational Qualification of Anganwadi Worker

To become an Anganwadi worker, candidates should be secondary passed from any recognised University or Board. Candidates having certificate in public health problems from any recognised University is given preference. Also, the following other conditions are for Anganwadi workers:

The candidate applying for the position should be from the same village he or she is applying and from the same ward in the urban area where he wants to apply. Having consistent good academic record for short listing is beneficial.ü

Age Limit of Anganwadi Worker

Due to being the temporary post of Anganwadi worker age limit is not fixed like regular appointments. However, the maximum age of candidates should not exceed 65 years.
