Internship to be an integral part of undergraduate medical education.

No medical graduate shall be eligible to permanent registration to practice medicine in India unless he undergoes the compulsory rotating medical internship in India as provided in Schedule II.

Duration and period of Internship- Not less than 12 Months completed within a period of two years from the date of qualifying credential to pursue compulsory rotating medical internship.

Quality of internship – Mentors in each department who will conduct active supervision of internee on said essential (Practical) skill and also certify at the end of posting. (Qualified Mentor Only)

The Dean/Principle/Director or any other equivalent authority shall be responsible for implementation of these Regulations.
