The full form of CCE is Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation. CCE refers to a student assessment system that covers all aspects of education. The CCE system was introduced by the state governments of India, as well as the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to evaluate all aspects of a student's development on a continuous basis throughout the year. This assessment approach was introduced for students of classes VI to X and in some schools for students of class XII. After this, the student of the lower class will have the practice to face the board exam. Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) as prescribed by the Right to Education (RTE) Act of India in 2009. Students' scores were replaced by grades assessed by a series of extra-curricular assessments. Grades are awarded to students only on the basis of their work experience skills, innovation, perseverance, teamwork, public speaking, behavior, etc. This helps students to showcase their talents in other fields like arts, humanities, sports, music, and athletics.

What are the features of CCE?

The major and salient feature of CCE is that it divides the entire year into two terms: Term I (April to September) and Term II (October to March), this greatly helps in reducing the burden on the students. The syllabus for both the terms is different and named as SA1 and SA2 respectively. SA1 and SA2 both have the same format of question papers in terms of difficulty level, design, and blueprint as per the board's sample questions. Both the terms are equivalent to each other. By the end of class X, all the students get the same grade sheet or we can say certificates signed, printed, and prepared by the board.

What is the importance of CCE?

The CCE will cover all the academic and non-scholastic areas of the school. Both Part A and Part B have different numbers of grades which are 9 and 5 grades respectively. Non-academic areas such as skills and attitudes will go under summative assessment and will have 3 grades. The percentage range of 51% to 60% means that the students get a grade of 6 in the academic field.
