CHSL Full Form



CHSL is stand for the Combined Higher Secondary Level, Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is the exam conducting body for SSC CHSL exam. It is a national level exam. Mainly SSC CHSL exam is conducted to recruit eligible applicants to the posts like Lower Divisional Clerk (LDC), Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA), Postal Assistant (PA), Sorting Assistant (SA), Data Entry Operator (DEO) and Data Entry Operator it is a Grade A level exam. SSC CHSL exam is conducted as per the vacancies available in various departments of the central government. Every year thousands of vacancies are filled by SSC in government departments. CHSL Exam Pattern
CHSL exam is conducted in three patterns. You can see in detail about these three patterns below -

  • Tier I - Objective

  • Tier II - Descriptive

  • Tier III - Skill Based

Tier I - Objective

In the first phase of CHSL exam, there are 25-25 questions of Objective Type English, Quantitative, Intelligence, General Knowledge. These four subjects are of 200 numbers or say that a subject is of 50 numbers. In the first phase of this exam, you will be given only one hour. Its phase is of 1 hour. The most important thing about this exam that you have to remember is (-) Negative Marking. There is negative marking in this exam i.e. number is deducted for one wrong answer. Half the number is deducted for 1 wrong answer.

Tier II - Descriptive

If you have passed Tier I then you will be eligible for Tier II. In this Tier you have to write essay and letter, this is not a computerized exam, you have to complete it with the help of Paper (Copy) and Pen. In this, both the essay and the letter are of 50 numbers i.e. this tier is of total 100 numbers. You get 1 hour to complete this tier.

Tier III - Skill Based

You are called for Tier III only after passing Tier I and Tier II. In this Tier III, you have to clear the Typing Exam and Interview. If you pass this also, then friends, your job gets confirmed.

  • The minimum qualification for CHSL is 12th.
  • Children studying class XII from any stream can give this exam.
  • There are some vacancies for which only candidates with PCB stream are eligible.
  • This information will be clear to you from the job notification.
  • The application fee is Rs.100 which is charged only for General and OBC candidates. There is no fee for other candidates.
  • General and OBC female candidates also do not have to pay the fee.
  • The age limit for SSC CHSL is 18 years to 27 years. Some relaxation is given for reserved category.

Salary

  • The posts you get by passing SSC CHSL, the salary ranges from around 18,000 to 32,000.
  • It depends on which post you get mentioned above and in which department.
