CID Full Form


The full form of CID is Crime Investigation Department, as its name suggests, it is an investigation agency all over India, there is a Central Investigation Agency in every country, in the same way the Central Investigation Agency of India is the CBI which is the country and abroad. It is responsible for crimes like murder, scam and corruption. Investigates on behalf of the Government of India for offenses involving national interests. Cases of rioting, murder, kidnapping, theft are coming up anywhere in the state. The CID is responsible for the investigation. It is the police investigation and intelligence department in every state. The British Government was established in 1902 during the British period on the recommendation of the Police Commission. Each state has a separate CID investigation agency, whose authority rests with the state government or the high court of the state, i.e. the state government or the high court entrusts the responsibility of solving any criminal case in the state. The CID department usually deals in intelligence and its members do not wear any special uniform and remain in normal clothes so that no one can identify them and investigate and arrest criminals. The headquarter of CID is in Pune. In CID there are many branches like Crime Branch (CB-CID), Anti-Terrorism Wing, Anti-Narcotics Cell, Anti-Human Trafficking and Missing Person Cell, Finger Print Bureau, Bank Fraud, Dog Squad and Human Rights Department. CID officers are known as spies or CID officers.

CID officers are involved in the investigation of major/complicated offenses such as rape, murder, grievous assault, communal riots, fraud involving counterfeit currency and any other offense which, in the opinion of the DGP, judicial court or district authorities, has a complex identity. is required. Their main role is to investigate serious crime and act on intelligence, which can lead to the arrest and prosecution of criminals. They perform investigative duties such as gathering facts and gathering evidence for criminal cases and fraud. Eligibility Criteria to Become a CID Officer

Candidate must be a citizen of India and hence the minimum qualification required for a candidate to join CID as a Sub Inspector or an Officer may be graduation from a recognized University. However, the minimum qualification required to join CID as a constable is 12th or higher secondary certificate.

Apart from qualifying to become a CID officer, one has to clear the Indian Civil Services exam conducted annually by the Union Public Service Commission.

Qualification

 The up-and-comer must be a resident of India and the Aadhaar capability required for a claimant to join CID as a sub inspector or an officer is a graduate from a stated college. However, to join CID as a constable, the required base competence is Class XII or Higher Secondary Certificate. Ability is not enough to become a CID officer, moreover, one must also clear the Indian Civil Services assessment which is conducted every year by the Union Public Service Commission.
