PPM meaning is parts per million. It is the unit used in science and technology for dimensionless quantities. It is also used for the various types of fractions like mass fraction and mole fraction. The ppm concentration method according to the above formula is used when the amount of solute in a solution is very small. In this case, the concentration of the solution can be represented by this method. It can also be expressed in the form of milligrams per liter, which means when one milligram of a substance is dissolved in one liter of solution, the concentration of the solution can be said to be 1 ppm.
For example, when a 55-gallon barrel of water is mixed with four drops of ink and stirred it to form a solution, then the value of the concentration of this solution is equal to one ppm.
