Types of operating systems


An Operating System manages all types of tasks such as computer software, managing files, processes, and memory. Examples of Operating systems are windows operating system, macOS operating system, Linux operating system, and mobile devices operating system.

 

 

 

There are four types of operating systems

 

1. WINDOWS OPERATING SYSTEM.

 

2. MACOS

 

3. LINUX

 

4. MOBIEL DEVICES OPERATING SYSTEM

 

WINDOWS OPERATING SYSTEM: -

 

 

A Windows operating system is a powerful operating system that controls and manages the hardware and software on a computer. It comes preloaded on all computers. Microsoft Windows operating system developed by Microsoft. Some examples of Microsoft Windows like windows 11, windows 10, windows 8, windows 7, windows vista, and windows XP.

 

MACOS OPERATING SYSTEM: -

 

 

macOS operating system is a Unix operating system created by Apple. macOS is the second most widely used desktop OS after Microsoft Windows operating system and ahead of ChromeOS. macOS operating systems come preloaded on all Macs.

 

LINUX: -

 

 

The Linux OS was developed by Linus Torvalds in 1991. Linux is an open-source operating system like other operating systems such as macOS, iOS, windows, and android. Linux operating system directly manages a system's hardware and resources, like CPU, memory, and storage.

 

MOBILE OPERATING SYSTEM: -

 

The mobile operating system is designed to run on mobile devices such as phones and tablets. in the mobile operating system, you can do a lot of things like watch movies, browse the web and listen to music, etc. Examples of mobile operating systems are Apple iOS and Google Android operating systems.
