What is DSP Full Form ?

DSP stands for Deputy Superintendent of Police. DSP is the representative of the state police force. The designation of a DSP officer is a national emblem above a star on the shoulder strap. In 1876 Policy of Indianisation is introduced and the British government created DSP or the Asp post in the commissioner system. It was a rank held entirely by Indians and was considered equivalent to an assistant superintendent (a rank held only by Europeans). A DSP is traced with certain administrative and financial powers. A DSP is in charge of maintaining law and order along with ensuring administrative control of subordinate officers in the district. The duties of a DSP basically include assisting the SP or Superintendent of Police in their supervision and control of duties.

How to Become DSP

Candidates who want to become DSP have to appear in the state-level exam. DSP exam is conducted in serval stages. Candidates have to qualify for the all-stage exam. These stages are divided into the three-part which are given below

Interview and Medical

Candidate must be Indian Citizen

DSP candidates have to complete their graduation from the recognized university.

The candidate minimum age must be 21 years and the maximum age would not be exceeded 30 years. There is 5 years of relaxation for the SC/ST category.

For the Male Candidate, their height should be 168cm and for the female, it should be at least 155 cm.
